“I don’t know anyone who actually uses Amway products, but every so often I hear they are actua asdfadsf ”

I don't know anyone who actually uses Amway products, but every so often I hear they are actually high quality: normal powdered laundry detergent is mostly filler, but Amway just sells the pure cleaning agent in a smaller package, and stuff like that. Is any of this true? Or is Amway just the crappy schlock marketed by pyramid scheme and cult-style social pressure that I always thought it was?
