Is it reasonable to expect, or even hope, that the world will one day find itself capable of abandoning the concept of a God, thus also abandoning the concept of guilt, and, as a result, finally find the happiness, the lack of self-abnegation, that the human animal posessed for more than a million years before he created a God in his own image in order to achieve his bizarre desire (resultant of extreme self-hatred) for a flogging, or, more precisely, a self-flaggelation? And, is it possible that Man can transend this desire for punishment?
