Humans are still mostly animals, and we have a great intuition for the macroscopic world because that's been important to animal evolution. For example, things fall. But the moon doesn't fall. That used to freak people out! Just as we had no evolved intuition for the moon, but came to understand orbits. One day we'll no longer be freaked out that existence isn't intuitive. <3
