I’ve consistently heard journalists who travel say that people from every place & culture want the same things: success & freedom & creative expression & love. African-American is a weird one because defining elements of its culture (poverty & victimization through racism) are exactly what society is trying to repair! ultimately we are more human & American than Latino, Jew, whatever. see people as individuals, not stereotypes.
