I’m sorry, but I don’t think he could possibly have meant I’ll be back…but after thousands of years. It’s pretty clear that his disciples forecast his return, but Jesus does not say it directly. In fact, the whole pope concept seems to be layered on after Jesus’ death. Is all this what he would really have wanted?
